Gabby Reynolds is Progress Lifeline’s Safeguarding Champion

Posted on: 31/08/2020

Congratulations to Progress Lifeline’s Training Coordinator Gabby Reynolds who successfully completed her Level 5 Award in Safeguarding for Managers course, accredited by Advantage Accreditation Body, in March. This means Gabby will lead on adult safeguarding for Progress Lifeline and will be responsible for implementing our adult safeguarding policy statement and prevention plan by systematically applying the six key principles learned.

The aim of the course delivered by 3 Spirit UK on 5th and 6th March in Birmingham, was to prepare Gabby to have a strategic view of safeguarding within our own service. To help her determine the links between strength-based approaches, positive risk taking and making safeguarding personal. It helped her to understand the broader role of risk assessments as well as how to adopt creative approaches to fostering a shared vision and competency.

Additionally, Gabby also received the 3 Spirit PREVENT Safeguarding tool, which details the six safeguarding principles. The principles are: empowerment, protection, prevention, partnership, proportionate and accountability.

As part of her assessment, Gabby had to use a prevention audit tool to assess whether our safeguarding policy met the requirements of the PREVENT safeguarding tool, which we are proud to say it did.

Karen Simpson, Senior Service Transformation Manager, and Joanne Bushell, Head of Progress Lifeline, felt this course would not only be a great asset for Progress Lifeline, but it strongly demonstrates our commitment to Gabby’s continual professional development plan.

Gabby said, “I am incredibly grateful to Karen and Joanne for being so supportive of my personal and professional development. I feel that I am encouraged to reach my full potential not only by Karen and Joanne, but by the company as a whole.”

With the certification under her belt, Gabby is currently carrying out safeguarding process training sessions with our Alarm Response Centre. This training will eventually be rolled out to all Progress Lifeline employees.

Progress Lifeline is committed to supporting its employees to meet their professional goals and is proud to provide ample training and learning opportunities.
