Local support and advice available from the Living Well Hub at St Catherine's Hospice

Get help from local health, care and legal services at the monthly advice hub at St Catherine's Hospice

Earlier this month, Progress Lifeline joined other local services, including Birchall Blackburn Law, the Lancashire Wellbeing service, counselling services, and advisors from the DWP, to provide information, advice and guidance at St Catherine's Hospice.

On the first Wednesday of the month 10.30am-12.30pm, St Catherine's Hospice in South Ribble, Lancashire (close to Leyland, Preston and Chorley) provides a drop-in monthly advice hub.

Situated above the Mill Cafe in the grounds of St Catherine's Park, which offers beautiful woodland walks and a sensory garden open to all, the 'Living Well Hub' provides information, advice and guidance from local services to help you and your family live well with a serious illness.

Debbie Bolton, Head of Clinical Education at St Catherine's Hospice explains more: 

"Our vision and mission at St Catherines is for anyone in Central Lancs who is facing life shortening illnesses to experience a good quality of life. Part of this vision can be achieved by individuals, organisations and communities working together to enable each and every one to have the resources to help one another. One way we are trying to achieve this is by our Living Well Hub drop-in. We are fortunate to be supported by some wonderful organisations as well as our own teams to enable those much needed resources to be freely available to those in need."


Who can I speak to at St Catherine's Hospice Living Well Hub to get information, advice and support?

Services* at the Living Well Hub include:

  • A legal clinic run by solicitors from Birchall Blackburn Law, covering items like making a will and lasting power of attorney
  • Information about how to protect and pass on your digital legacy
  • A chance to learn basic complementary therapy techniques to use at home
  • Civil Service representatives to help you with matters relating to housing and benefits
  • Lancashire Wellbeing service to support your emotional health and wellbeing
  • The St Catherine's Support Team
  • Information about living safely and independently at home with help from remote monitoring, assistive technology and assistive lifting from Progress Lifeline

The drop-in Living Well Hub is available to anyone who needs to empower themselves with information, not only patients of St Catherine's - The Hub is part of the Compassionate Communities project, which aims to empower local people across Central Lancashire to help themselves, and each other, when facing serious illness and bereavement.
