Age Concern Central Lancashire’s Warm Space and Activity Centres

Posted on: 6/01/2023

Age Concern Central Lancashire is providing practical help to people over the age of 55 in Lancashire.

Warm Space

Starting from Monday 9th January, Age Concern Central Lancashire will reopen its ‘warm space’ on Mondays (9:15am-4:15pm) and Tuesdays (9:15am-1:00pm). This will be held at Lostock Hall Friendship Club, Lourdes Avenue, Lostock Hall PR5 5TA.

The ‘warm space’ is available to all over 55s looking for a safe, welcoming and warm environment where they can meet new friends and receive advice on rising energy costs. Free hot food refreshments will be available.

Activity centres

Social engagement is important for people's wellbeing. Taking advantage of social opportunities, sharing and connecting with others can be fun and refreshing whilst providing mental and physical benefits. An active social life helps to reduce depression, Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. Age Concern Central Lancashire’s two activity centres, Withy Trees in Fulwood and Charnley Fold in Bamber Bridge, offer the ideal settings to make friends, take part in social activities, stay fit and keep the mind sharp.
