We work with Lancashire County Council to provide a free 72 hour service for carers to temporarily cover your caring responsibilities in the event of an emergency.

How does Peace of Mind 4 Carers work?

Someone from your local carers' centre will meet with you and the person you care for and put together an action plan that can be put in place 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You will be given a carer identification card and a key fob with an emergency number to alert people such as the emergency services that you have a caring responsibility.

In the event we are contacted, we will implement the action plan and support the person you care for.

When might I need it?

There are many types of emergency that a carer may find themselves in, for example:

  • Being delayed by traffic
  • Being rushed into hospital
  • Serious illness.

The service is free of charge and available to all carers in Lancashire.

Even if you feel like you may never need the service it is beneficial to have the option of support for the person you care for.

To apply for a Peace of Mind 4 Carers plan, please contact Carers Link on 01254 387444 or to find out more, please contact us.

We also offer a range of additional services including a lifting service and a telecare range of sensors.
